How
can I donate or help raise funds for Heads Up?
You can donate online, through the mail or donate
services or supplies... we are a tax exempt
501(c)3 organization, so we can give you the
appropriate receipt if needed.
Your
business or church group or social club can
help us raise funds by participating in some
of our fund raisers... like selling gift cards
for WingZone (who gives us 50% profit back!)
or by simply have a bake sale, yard sale etc.
with donations going towards Heads Up being
in your neighborhood.
Is
Heads Up really different than other local and
national youth organizations?
Heads Up believes programs don't empower people
as effectively as people empower people.
It's not about a cool or hip program, it's about
connecting face-to-face, soul-to-soul and realizing
the unique potential each student posseses. Heads
Up is also the only program in Lancaster County
that focuses on urban arts.
Is
Heads Up able to offer programs during my school
day, at my church or perform at my upcoming
event?
Heads Up loves to be a part of the school day
and take over a music class or a gym class for
a week to give the students something fresh
and the teacher a little break... and inspiration!
We would love to be a part of your youth group,
weekly service or help boost the attendance
at your next event. We all have some pretty
unique stories that brought us to where we are
and we love to share them.
Where
are you located and who is considered staff?
We
are based in Lancaster city and we are currently
negotiating a few potential building locations,
trying to figure out what best meets our needs
for our short and long term goals. So, all
of our programs and people come to you!
If you can clear away tables and chairs, it's
very likely we can work together!
The
"staff" of Heads Up are a core group
of professionals who have committed their efforts
fully to the mission and vision of Heads Up.
Because Heads Up has not yet met its fundraising
needs, they are paid based on services provided.
Meaning, if they don't teach, they don't get
paid. That is why we need your support...because
they do SO much more than teach. For
every hour of teaching there is at least an
hour of training, preparation, travel, set-up
etc. ... so help us grow our pennies in the
bank so we can have full-time committed staff.
Are
you looking for other programs and instructors?
We would love to know about your vision and
heart to connect your art/ profession/ skills
with students. We are looking for more gospel
rap artists who love to teach spoken word, poetry,
rhyme to students. We are also looking for fine
artists (paint, photography, muralist) and musicians
who want to empower students interested in their
disciplines. Contact us to schedule a meeting
